What a magic feeling, when we fall asleep, knowing that someone who
loves us is watching over us – peaceful deep and enduring.
A parent over a child, a lover over their loved.
Sentinels have been part of our collective history for thousands of years.
Those that, after a long journey were willing to stay awake so that others
sleep. The beauty of sacrifice in its purest form.
During our lives we alternate between being the Sentinel, and being the
one protected.
Collins has created this vision with the strength of metal, and the softness
of paper, symbolizing these two sides of this interaction.
There is a crown above the head of the Sentinel, for at that moment of
protection, they are indeed filled with the love of God.
